Reign of Chandragupta II (Vikramaditya)
Chandragupta II expanded Gupta authority westward, defeated the Western Kshatrapas and gained access to important western trade routes. His reign is associated with a flourishing court culture and the wider artistic and literary achievements of the Gupta period.
