Chola Expedition to Srivijaya
In 1025, Rajendra Chola I launched a naval expedition against Srivijaya and several ports in maritime Southeast Asia. Chola inscriptions celebrate the campaign as a major overseas victory; control of commercial networks formed part of the wider strategic context, although the exact motive remains debated.
