Capital Shifted to Daulatabad
Around 1327, Muhammad bin Tughlaq attempted to shift the political centre of his empire from Delhi to Daulatabad in the Deccan and compelled sections of Delhi's population and elite to relocate. The policy caused severe hardship and was later reversed.
