Akbar's Tauhid-i Ilahi Circle Emerges
By the early 1580s, Akbar had developed a small courtly discipleship circle often described in later writing as the Din-i Ilahi or Tauhid-i Ilahi. It drew on Akbar's wider programme of interreligious debate and imperial ethics, but it was not a mass religion with a scripture, priesthood or large organised following.
