The Anglo-Maratha Wars
The three Anglo-Maratha Wars, fought between 1775 and 1818, involved the East India Company and different powers within the Maratha Confederacy. The Company's victory in the Third Anglo-Maratha War ended the Peshwa's political authority and established British paramountcy over much of the subcontinent.
