Return of Mahatma Gandhi
Gandhi returned to India from South Africa on 9 January 1915 after two decades abroad and years of satyagraha campaigns there. On Gopal Krishna Gokhale's advice, he initially travelled and studied conditions in India before taking a leading role in mass politics.
