The Bahmani Realm Fragments into Deccan Sultanates

Bahmani authority fragmented gradually from the 1490s as provincial powers such as Ahmadnagar, Bijapur, Berar, Bidar and Golconda emerged as the Deccan Sultanates.

Historical atlas map of India in 1525 showing the political landscape after the fragmentation of the Bahmani realm
This 1907 atlas map represents the political landscape in 1525, not the exact moment around 1490 when Bahmani fragmentation accelerated. It is deliberately used as later successor-state context; do not label it as a map of 1490. · Credit: Justus Perthes, Gotha, 1907; from Charles Joppen's A Historical Atlas of India · License: Public domain
