GenomeIndia National Genomic Data Set Is Released

On 9 January 2025, the Department of Biotechnology unveiled the Indian Genomic Data Set generated through the GenomeIndia programme and launched the Framework for Exchange of Data Protocols (FeED) and Indian Biological Data Centre portals. The initiative made data from 10,000 whole-genome samples available through a research-access framework, creating a major population-genomics resource for studying India's genetic diversity.
