India–Australia Civil Nuclear Agreement Becomes Operational for Uranium Supply

On 9 July 2026, India and Australia finalised the Administrative Arrangement under their 2014 Civil Nuclear Cooperation Agreement during the annual summit in Melbourne. The arrangement operationalised the agreement’s uranium-supply provisions, establishing implementation procedures for long-term Australian uranium exports to India for peaceful use under International Atomic Energy Agency safeguards. The step converted the decade-old bilateral nuclear pact into an operative fuel-supply framework.
