Humayun Returns
After years of exile and a recovery of his position in Afghanistan with earlier Safavid assistance, Humayun's forces under commanders including Bairam Khan defeated the weakened Suri successors and recovered Delhi in 1555. Humayun died in January 1556 after falling on the stairs of his library.
