Second Battle of Panipat
On 5 November 1556, Mughal forces operating under Bairam Khan defeated Hemu at Panipat. Hemu had captured Delhi and assumed royal authority after a series of victories over Mughal and Afghan opponents. The battle restored Mughal control of Delhi during the early reign of Akbar.
