Siege of Chittorgarh
In 1567–68, Akbar's forces besieged and captured Chittorgarh, one of Mewar's principal fortresses. The defence became associated especially with the commanders Jaimal Rathore and Patta Sisodia, while the ruler Udai Singh II had withdrawn from the fort before its fall.
