Lahore Resolution (Pakistan Resolution)

At the Muslim League's Lahore session in March 1940, Bengal premier A. K. Fazlul Huq moved a resolution calling for geographically contiguous Muslim-majority areas in the northwestern and eastern zones of India to be grouped into 'independent States' in which constituent units would be autonomous and sovereign. The resolution became the central constitutional reference point for the League's later Pakistan demand.
