The Kargil War
In 1999, Pakistani military personnel and associated forces occupied positions across the Line of Control in the Kargil sector. India launched Operation Vijay to evict the intrusions and used air power under Operation Safed Sagar. By late July, the occupied positions on the Indian side of the Line of Control had been recovered or vacated.
