IC 814 Hijacking
Indian Airlines Flight IC 814 was hijacked on 24 December 1999 while flying from Kathmandu to Delhi and, after several stops, was taken to Kandahar in Taliban-controlled Afghanistan. The hostage crisis ended on 31 December after India released three jailed militants in exchange for the passengers and crew.
