Four Labour Codes Come into Force

On 21 November 2025, the Government brought India's four Labour Codes into effect: the Code on Wages, Industrial Relations Code, Code on Social Security, and Occupational Safety, Health and Working Conditions Code. Together they consolidated 29 central labour laws into four statutory frameworks covering wages, industrial relations, social security and workplace safety, marking the implementation stage of a labour-law restructuring legislated between 2019 and 2020.
