Operation Polo
From 13 to 17 September 1948, Indian forces entered the princely state of Hyderabad in Operation Polo after negotiations with the Nizam's government had failed and violence had escalated within the state. Hyderabad's forces surrendered, and the state was incorporated into the Indian Union.
