Operation Sindoor and May 2025 India–Pakistan Confrontation

During the night of 6–7 May 2025, India announced strikes on nine sites in Pakistan and Pakistan-administered Kashmir under Operation Sindoor, describing the action as a response to the Pahalgam attack. Several days of cross-border military exchanges followed. On 10 May, the two countries' Directors General of Military Operations agreed to stop firing and military action on land, in the air and at sea from 17:00 IST.
