Execution of Guru Tegh Bahadur
Guru Tegh Bahadur, the ninth Sikh Guru, was executed in Delhi in 1675 under Mughal authority. Sikh tradition remembers his martyrdom as a defence of freedom of conscience and links his final journey to the plight of Kashmiri Pandits facing coercive religious pressure. The event became a defining memory in later Sikh history and in the formation of the community under Guru Gobind Singh.
